2012 Top 12

Hello everyone

2012 was an exciting year for me scrapping wise as I got my first Design Team/Creative Team spots with 2Crafty and Scrap the Girls.

I have had a look over my layouts for the year and have picked my favourite12 of 2012, in no particular order.

First up, Choc Tops - I love the white paint that I have used on my background to represent the dripping ice-cream and the hints of pink and mint.

Just be You is very special as it was featured on the cover of Scrapbook Creations Issue no. 94. My boy was born with a cleft lip, so to see his smiling face gracing the cover of a magazine was a huge highlight of 2012 for me :)

I have chosen this layout of Lily in Strike a Pose as I love the mixed media background and hope to play around with this style more next year.

The simple, clean lines of Make the Most of Every Moment and the earthy colours landed this layout in my top picks.

I adore this close up of Lily, these gorgeous girlie papers and the fabulous 2Crafty butterflies in You are so Beautiful

I love the white space and masking along with the hints of bright colours on kraft in Happy Birthday.

This photo is possibly my most favourite photo this year - my Mum was taking some photos and the kids both decided to kiss me unprompted. So very special, they mean the world to me and I took a while to find just the right papers and embellishments for Home is Where your Heart is.

Such a fun layout, I used actual bubble mix and ink to create the background for Bubble Fun, I love the effect.

One of my earlier layouts from this year, Good Bye Baby Tooth was for a challenge to use up scraps and I adore the mish mash of patterned papers.

It could be the cute baby photo of Lily celebrating her first Christmas or the fabulous colours in this older crate paper Christmas range but I just love my I believe in Santa layout.

The bold colours and simple, clean design see Cherish make the top 12.

And my final layout, The Magic of You is a whimsical, pretty page and I love the 2Crafty fairy so much. The layout just makes me smile :)

Well that is my favourite 12 for this year, quite the variety of styles... not sure I could ever limit myself to scrapping just one style though.

Looking forward to lots of scrapping in 2013!

2Crafty December Layouts

Hello everyone

If you are looking for the Scrap the Girls Blog Hop see this post.

Today I am sharing my layouts that were on the 2Crafty blog earlier this month.

My first layout features one of the brand new 2Crafty pieces from the latest release. I loved this Christmas Scene Frame the second I saw it. Lots of different altering on this. Firstly I applied white crackle paint to the frame to give it some texture, then I started on all the details.

The tree I have mixed some flowersoft together with some distress ink the applied this to the tree. I then added some bling for baubles and some gold stars, before adding more inked flowersoft to give lots of dimension.
The presents and branch have been coloured with copic markers and then I added some gold stickles to the presents and the star on top.
To top right corner of the frame I have inked the holly leaves, then applied some crackle paint and then some distress ink on top before it was completely dry to create mottly leaves, the berries I have used red stickles. The baubles I have used some gold metalic paint and red ink, then added some more glitter - red stickles bows and gold stickles trim. The ornaments are hanging with some christmas twine - red and white with a glittery green through it.

Then I have used the Merry Christmas title, cut it and painted it white before sprinkling very liberally with white glitter.  I have then randomly added white glitter around the frame.
My next layout is also a Christmassy one. This was Lily's first Christmas. She wasn't overly happy with the hat...

I have used the new & fantastic I believe in Santa title and have simply used some gold spray paint - super easy way to get a nice matte gold finish:

I have also used the spray paint on one of my frame scallop circle borders. This cute little tree is a part of the Christmas Assortment set. You get 9 assorted Christmas pieces in this set!! I have inked the tree, then defined the shadows with copic marker, added some red pearls and of course a glittery star (can you tell I love glitter with Christmas?).

I have used a second frame scallop circle border and inked this red then lightly added some red stickles around it. The mini Christmas baubles have also been spray painted and I have added a couple of red pearls to give them a litte added colour and tie them in to the rest of the layout.

I decided to make my final share a non Christmas page. This one is of Zane who recently turned 7.

How cute are these tiny funky frames I have used to highlight the number 7 on the patterned paper? I have inked the frame and used some dimensional magic so it is nice and glossy. The cute little pointing finger sign I have very lightly inked with some pinecone ink and used a marvy marker to highlight the engraved word today.

Finally I have used some stars and cute cogs to embellish the page. I have simply used the patterned paper to cover the stars and then inked them in pinecone. The cogs have been inked in pinecone then given some crackle paint to finish off. I have then layered them on top of each other. Nice and easy way to match the colours in your layout.

Dream Big

Last fortnight I taught my last class for the year at All About Scrapbooks crop day. We did two layouts, using the gorgeous Glitz designs Cashmere Bouquet papers and embellishments, along with some 2Crafty of course!!

Dream Big was the first page, of me *gasp*

The quote reads: Never give up on a dream just because of the time it will take to accomplish it, the time with pass anyway.

I have used one of the stickers as a journaling card for some extra info to myself.

The second page we did was Always & Forever using up the rest of the stickers and rhinestones.

The journaling on this layout reads: Lily, never forget just how much you are loved by me, you are such a special little girl and I love with you all my heart, now, always and forever. Love Mummy xx

Sometimes she just needs a little reassurance.

Unwelcome Guest - WW1 November Challenge

Hi everyone

Back with another challenge entry today. This time I have played along with White with One. There November challenge is White + Green + Chevron.

This water dragon was in our backyard the other day, and while I am not far from the bush, we don't live right near it nor are we near any water. Gee it was quick, I am not a fan of reptiles but the kids thought it was cute. Since this one came and went we have found we also have a small blue tongue in the backyard - I like him better, he isn't so fast!!

I took some photos of him, so I thought I may as well scrap him! My chevron is the white background paper with the chevron pattern.

Cousins - KIU November Challenge

Hello everyone

I decided to play along with KIU challenge this month, the challenge is to create a layout on Kraft that is minimalist or uses white space.

I took this photo using instagram of my neice and nephews with my two on a day trip we had to Manly. Pity my eldest niece wasn't there, but I love this photo of my elder nephew who is 15 looking after all the little ones (who are 3,4,5 & 6! in this photo). I love having the phone on my camera to capture moments like this.

Here is my layout, pretty happy with how it turned out, even if it is hard not to try and add something else!! I also tried to keep away from mists but did use a bit of stamping...

Do or Die Final Layouts

Just popping in with my last few layouts for the Do or Die challenge that was on over at Scrapz.biz a few weeks ago. I managed to make it to the end, but didn't get my layout in on the final magic number to win.

There were 8 rounds all up, my favourite layout I have been lucky enough to have picked up for publication so here are the last 4:

Finishing off some photos from 2011 Halloween with this layout, love the spider web flocked transparency. They are both just Frightfully Adorable.

Lily last summer with the water pistol, she looks dangerous haha!! Ready, Aim, Fire!

Lily in her beautiful dance costume for Fairy Ballet last year, they performed Swan Lake, they were so very cute. Unfortunately she isn't doing ballet this year, just jazz and tap (which at this concert time of the year is a good thing).

And another Halloween one, just got them scrapped in time before this one came around! Lily HAD to be an Angel and refused to be anything else, especially nothing scary which is what I based my title You Must be an Angel on.  (This year she was much scarier!!)

2Crafty November

Hello everyone

Been a very slack blogger, have a heap of layouts to share but just haven't gotten around to the blogging part!! Today I am sharing my latest 2Crafty layouts, which you may have already seen on the 2Crafty Blog.

My first share today is a layout titled Life's Good, of my gorgeous little boy who will be 7 this week! I have lots of 2Crafty chipboard on this page without making it too busy. The products I've used are the Clock Face FramesLife's Good title, Cute Cogs, Fencing Wire Panel, ATC Clock Faces and a name plate from the Corners and Name Plate set.

My next share is Ferris Wheel. I just love this Ferris Wheel Chipboard piece, it's so fun and perfect for our pics of us all on the Ferris Wheel in Hong Kong.

Close-ups and descriptions of how I have altered the chipboard can be seen on the 2Crafty blog!!

Thanks

Crop Day Layouts

Enjoyed my monthly crop day again this month, didn't teach this time but made up a couple of kits instead.

I managed to scrap 4 pages, two of which I can share today.

First up is a layout from my recent big birthday. I loved these big banners from the new Fancy Pants The Good Life range available here and new exactly what I wanted to do. I have combined it with some fab Queen and Co Washi tape, love the colours available and may have bought more than a few.

My second layout is an older hisptamatic photo of Zane, I had kitted it up with the OA Sasparilla Papers - then left in my crop day trolley for a while. I finally pulled it all out this crop day and came up with this:

Do or Die...

Planning our Big Adventure: organising our  big holiday that we hope to have very soon!!

Little Lady: My third weeks entry. Just a simple pic, using black, pink and white colour combo.

October 2Crafty

Hello everyone

These are my recent layouts that were on the 2Crafty blog on the 4th of the month. You can see close-ups on this post.

Home is Where Your Heart Is:

Love this gorgeous photo I got the other day, especially when it was just the kids being themselves and kissing me rather than a staged photo - we did get the all looking at the camera one too of course.

My next layout is from our trip last year to Hong Kong Disneyland. The princesses castle, it was just gorgeous. The title was cut specifically for me - love it!

My final layout is Magical Memories: This photo of Zane and I was taken on my birthday back in June while we were out to dinner.

That's all for today, lots of yummy 2Crafty chipboard which you can get here at All About Scrapbooks

A Random Assortment

Hello everyone

Popping in today to share some layouts that I realise I haven't shared on here yet, a bit of a random assortment!

First up using the new October Afternoon, love the colours in this and a gorgoeus peacock feather:

And the next one is a scraplift of one of my own layouts, which is here. This is my boy version, I LOVE these timber backgrounds and some flowers for my boy as he loves flowers - probably because I have black thumbs and can't grow plants.

Will pop back with the others in the next couple of days, there are more than I thought!

Some Holiday layouts

Hello everyone

It's been 12 months since we had our family holiday in Hong Kong, so I thought I better add a bit more to the holiday scrap album. I have done 3, but only 1 to share at the moment. The kids loved Disneyland, most especially meeting some of their favourite characters. This one is meeting Tinkerbelle and her teaching the kids how to fly!

I have used the new 2Crafty Twinkling Fairies and the chipboard word Believe. Also some cute felt embellishments by Rainbow Splendour

My next share is a little more recent, the kids enjoying a swim in the pool on holiday down the south coast.
