A new month and a new challenge over at the Scrap the Boys challenge blog. This month it is all about DIRT!
Here is my take on the challenge:
I've used graphite texture paste over my background to create a "dirt" texture. I have added a little colour with some patterned paper. Next I have continued the outdoors theme with some fussy cut some leaves from Echo Parks Jungle Safari range and added some gorgeous 2Crafty chipboard leaves.
I've grunged up a raw 2Crafty chipboard frame with some random inking to frame my photo - a close up of my nephews dirt covered foot.
Be sure to check out the rest of the Design Teams creations and join in on this months challenge here.
Hello everyone I was very please to be asked to be a Guest Designer over at ARTastic Challenge Blog this month. Such a clever idea for a scrapping challenge - taking inspiration from Art. This months inspirational art piece is Carousel Delight by Karen Pierce:
OOh I love carousels so I was so excited about this! The criteria is also to use butterflies on the layout. Here is my interpretation: Antique Carousel
This is the Antique Carousel in Florence Italy - we had a few rides on it over the course of our too short a visit to one of my most favourite cities! It is such a beautiful carousel. This challenge also gave me the opportunity to use this goreous Crate Paper Carousel horse that I had been hoarding for so long, as I just love it! I have finished off the layout with some beautiful butterfly stickers which I have given some dimension with mounting tape to create an inflight motion to the page.
Hi Everyone Lots of cool sketches around this month and I loved this sketch over at Scrapbooking Top 50 Australia this month. I have created this layout using a photo and papers that I have had in my stash for a while - obviously just waiting on the perfect sketch for inspiration! Love you to the Moon and Back
Adore this photo of my two, taken 9 years ago - where did that time go? The gorgeous moon and the title are both 2Crafty Chipboard, part of the Love you to the Moon set. My background is gelatos used as a watercolour and some subtle stars done with texture paste. The moon has been painted white then edged in the blue gelato.
I've finished off with some gorgeous embellishments - some Cocoa Vanilla Studio and 2Crafty and these beautiful blue felt flowers that I have probably had in my stash for as long as the photo, I can't remember where I got them!
Hi everyone Very excited to be on the Scrap the Boys Design Team for this year alongside some very talented scrappers. New challenges are announced each month and this months theme is, Something New Here is my layout - Rancor
This was one of Zane's favourite Christmas presents last year. It's from Star Wars, for those like me who have never watched it!
Hi everyone Planning to be a bit more regular with the challenge entries this year. January almost got away from me, but have squeezed in the Kraft Plus challenge - On your Bike. The criteria is to use a bike on your layout: Here we Go
Got out the Dylusions paints to have a play with the background, co-ordinating with the colours in my photo - it helps they go so nice together. Then I had a dig around in my scraps draw to find some papers to co-ordinate - some old Basic Grey B Side. A couple of close ups of my embellishment clusters. First up, a Charms Creations Hessian Heart, some Cocoa Vanilla wood veneer cogs, a prima flower and a cute bike flair that I have had for so long I can't remember who's it is!
and some Cocoa Vanilla goodies all together - flower, cog and limited edition flair!
I adore this paper collection with it's blues and pinks that work so fabulously together.
I have started this page off with a watercoloured background using some Dylusion Ink Spray and water. Love that it gives just the right amount of colour and you can control how light or dark it is.
The 2Crafty chipboard seahorse is my favourite thing on this layout - it perfectly co-ordinates with Lily's top and I have simply inked a few different colours - pink, blue, green onto it before adding some stickles.
To see some close-ups of my layout, head on over to All About Scrapbooks blog.
Hope you all had a lovely Christmas and a wonderful New Year.
Bit of a catch up post on my December layouts for All About Scrapbooks. I had a bit of a Christmas theme going on with a variety of fun collections:
I've created this page using Bella Blvd Illustrated Faith Christmas collection, a piece from their Oh My Stars collection which co-ordinated perfectly. And I've added a gorgeous hessian heart from Charms Creations - the perfect green!
